Eight Years of Persistence, Greening the Desert; Craftsmanship in Manufacturing, Conveying Affection through Tools.
Recently, the Alxa Tengger Desert Edge-Locking Ecological Public Welfare Base in Inner Mongolia released an achievement report: it has completed 66 kilometers of desert edge-locking, covering a planting area of 159,000 mu (approximately 10,600 hectares), planted a total of 16.2 million trees, and sequestered 195,900 tons of carbon.
Behind the expansion of this green barrier lies the continuous efforts of numerous enterprises and social forces. As a key partner in Toyota Boshoku’s supply chain system, Silver Basis has participated in the “Toyota Boshoku Oasis” Desert Edge-Locking Public Welfare Initiative for eight consecutive years, injecting solid strength into desertification control through tangible actions.
Walking Hand in Hand for Greenery, Eight Years of Commitment
In 2013, Toyota Boshoku, in collaboration with the China Green Foundation, launched the Alxa Desert Edge-Locking Program. Since 2017, Silver Basis has maintained continuous participation. Up to this year, BASIS has organized volunteer teams to venture deep into the desert hinterland for eight consecutive years, personally planting drought-tolerant plants such as Haloxylon ammodendron and Hedysarum scoparium to aid in the restoration of desertified land.
This year, a volunteer team led by Ryan Huang, Co-founder and Vice President of BASIS, visited the Tengger Desert base once again to participate in the “Planting Trees, Nurturing Hearts” public welfare activity. In recognition of its long-term contributions, the team was awarded a Public Welfare Contribution Certificate by the organizer.
Crafted Tools, Telling Stories Through Names
Silver Basis not only takes part in tree planting firsthand but also leverages its manufacturing advantages to develop and donate practical tree-planting tools. Among these tools, the “Name Plate Fork” is independently developed and designed by BASIS. Featuring a sturdy structure and reusability, it is engraved with the name of each tree planter — adding a sense of ritual and commemorative value to the public welfare initiative.
To date, the company has donated over 30,000 such forks in total, becoming a warm and heartfelt highlight of the program.
Additionally, over the years, Silver Basis has successively designed and manufactured specialized tools including tree-planting cutting tools and water gun grip clips. These tools have significantly improved the efficiency and survival rate of tree planting, truly embodying the concept of “empowering public welfare with technology and supporting ecology through manufacturing.”
Shared Responsibility, Sustainable Green Development
As the initiator of this program, Toyota Boshoku has persisted in conducting tree-planting activities for 13 years. It has planted nearly 200,000 seedlings in total, forming an ever-extending green protective belt that has effectively slowed down desert expansion.
Looking ahead, Silver Basis will continue to uphold the philosophy of “Serve the Country Through Industry, Promote Good Through Industry.” It will deepen cooperation with Toyota Boshoku and the China Green Foundation, remain engaged in ecological restoration efforts, and actively explore more innovative ways to integrate manufacturing capabilities with social responsibility.
Silver Basis will continue to fulfill its corporate social responsibility, integrate green and low-carbon concepts into every link of the industrial chain, contribute to the building of a “Beautiful China” through concrete actions, and bring the strength of “Made in China” to global sustainable development.
